-Puppy Purchase Price-

Dear prospective puppy owner,
We would like to begin with a quote that profoundly reflects our philosophy and approach to responsible breeding:

„God wishes that we stand by the animals when they need help. Every creature in distress has an equal right to protection.
All creatures on earth feel as we do,
all creatures on earth love, suffer, and die as we do,
therefore they are equal works of the Almighty Creator – our brothers.”
— Saint Francis of Assisi

This quote accompanies us in our daily life with our dogs. For us, it is not merely a beautiful saying—it is a heartfelt expression of our deep conviction.

Animals are not commodities – puppies are not products.

This video by the German Kennel Club (VDH) clearly illustrates why a low price is often linked to animal suffering.

Why Is a Purebred Puppy from a Breeder So Expensive?

This is a question we hear time and again—and it is completely understandable. At first glance, the prices can seem high. But once you look behind the scenes, it quickly becomes clear how much love, time, and responsibility goes into every single puppy.
We are a small, passionate hobby breeder. Our dogs are family members. They live with us in our home, accompany us in daily life, and hold a special place in our hearts. Our breeding is registered with the Spaniel Club Germany and therefore adheres to strict regulations and regular inspections.

The Journey Begins with a Decision

Before we even think about puppies, we need the right female dog. This decision is made with great care. We don’t just consider health and genetics—we also look closely at temperament. After all, she will become a member of our family.

The price for such a female dog is comparable to or even higher than that of a well-bred family companion.

During her first year, the young dog grows into a proud, mature female. During this time, she receives the best nutrition, loving socialization, and gentle, stable training. This is much more than mere care—it’s companionship on equal footing.

After about a year, she undergoes a breeding suitability examination. If she passes, further checks follow, including hip x-rays, genetic testing for breed-specific diseases, and detailed eye examinations. These tests alone generate significant costs—but for us, only a healthy dog deserves to bring new life into the world.

I would like to conclude with the words of Mahatma Gandhi:
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. I claim: the more helpless a creature is, the greater its right to be protected by humans from cruelty.”
